“I’m careful about what I eat… so why am I still so tired? And why can’t I lose weight?”
This is a question I hear very often in my practice.
Over time, many people begin to believe that they simply lack willpower. They eat less, eliminate certain foods, try a new diet… and then another one.
And when nothing really changes, they blame themselves.
Yet my experience has taught me that these three symptoms — fatigue, stress, and difficulty losing weight — are often connected.
Rather than looking at each one separately, I always try to understand what might be connecting them.
Our Body Functions as a Whole
We often tend to compartmentalize our symptoms.
Fatigue? We assume we’re not getting enough sleep.
Stress? We see it as a psychological issue.
Weight? We think it’s all about food.
But in reality, our body functions as a whole.
When one of its major systems is out of balance, several symptoms can appear at the same time.
This is precisely why I always take the time to listen to each person’s story before suggesting solutions.
Why Can You Feel Tired Even When You Eat Well?
Many people believe that eating a healthy diet should be enough.
But in reality, it’s not only what we eat that matters.
It’s also what we are able to digest, absorb, and utilize.
A healthy diet will not necessarily have the same effect on two people if their digestive systems are functioning differently.
Over the years, I have observed that chronic fatigue is sometimes accompanied by digestive problems, bloating, constipation, or a feeling of difficult or sluggish digestion.
This does not mean that digestion explains everything.
But it is often part of the picture.
Stress Also Affects Digestion
We have probably all noticed that a stressful period can change our appetite or affect our digestion.
That is no coincidence.
Our brain and our gut are in constant communication.
When stress becomes chronic, some people may experience poorer digestion, disrupted sleep, difficulty recovering, and persistent fatigue.
Little by little, the whole system can become less efficient.
And What About Weight?
This is probably the most discouraging part.
Some people make tremendous efforts without getting the results they expect.
I understand how frustrating that can be.
But in my practice, I always ask another question:
Why is the body resisting?
Before focusing on calories, I try to understand whether other factors may be involved:
- chronic inflammation,
- hormonal imbalances,
- impaired digestion,
- insufficient sleep,
- ongoing stress,
- or several of these factors at the same time.
I prefer to look for the underlying causes rather than focusing only on the number on the scale.
What I Have Observed Over 38 Years
Throughout my years in practice, I have noticed something important.
The people who gradually regain their energy are not necessarily the ones following the strictest diet.
Often, they are the ones who finally begin to understand why their body is functioning the way it is.
That understanding changes the way they look at their health.
It then allows us to build a truly personalized approach.
Because every person is different.
And that is precisely why two people experiencing the same symptoms will not necessarily have the same needs.
In Conclusion
If you are tired, stressed, and struggling to lose weight, don’t immediately assume that it is simply a matter of willpower.
These three symptoms may be connected.
They deserve the time and attention needed to explore their underlying causes rather than treating each one separately.
For the past 38 years, this has been the approach that guides my work: to listen, understand, and build an individualized program for each person.
🌿 Béatrice’s Health Tip
Before starting another diet, ask yourself this question:
“Am I simply trying to make a symptom disappear… or am I trying to understand why my body is functioning this way?”
Very often, asking that question is where change begins.
